JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Description: In the role of Program Director
II in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine you will,
under administrative direction and with the broadest span of control,
oversee the activities of a large-scale statewide, College-wide, or
department-wide program, including responsibility for the overall
management and functioning of the program. The Program Director will be
administratively responsible for the operational management of all
outpatient clinics. He/she will work closely with the Vice Chair, the
Chair, Department Administrator, and Clinic Medical Directors to provide
a functional and responsive clinical environment for the patients
receiving care and the clinicians providing care at these locations.
Responsibilities include the development of integrated, standardized
policies and procedures across all clinical structures. Examples
include, but are not limited to, ensuring a responsive patient intake
system, structured appointment scheduling, maintenance of a 6-month
staff on-call schedule, and coordination of inter-clinic physician and
allied health professional continuous quality improvement. The Program
Director is expected to develop an integrated system of care for a
population of patients, who are diagnostically, geographically,
socially, and economically diverse. These clinical offerings should
ideally balance the clinical, research, and educational missions of the
department. Primary Functions Ensure sound operational management of
Department of Psychiatry clinics, with a particular focus on the smooth
delivery of care, referrals, claim processing, policies, and procedures.
Maintain certifications and licensure criteria necessary for continued
clinical operations. Coordinate physician and staff manpower needs
between clinics. Provide clinical/ administrative assistance to the Vice
Chair on clinic utilization and management issues. Work with the
Directors of Medical Student and Resident Education Programs to
integrate the department\'s academic mission into the department\'s
clinic sites. Ability to use sound judgment and exercise strong
emotional intelligence necessary to navigate a wide variety of patient,
staff, family, and administrative issues in the context of an active,
multidisciplinary clinic setting. Monitor and review established quality
and utilization metrics along with other identified trends in the
outpatient psychiatry clinics in support of department and group
