Description JOB SUMMARY The Commissary Driver is responsible for the delivery, loading, removal, and clearing of all food and beverage as well as other essential supplies to all departing and returning scheduled, charter, and freighter flights. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Load catering truck with carts and other supplies to be delivered to aircraft. Drive and maneuver catering truck to rear of aircraft and raise box of catering truck to the aircraft. At a height of about 15 feet, deliver, remove, and clear aircrafts of carts, food, beverage, essential supplies, and catering waste back and forth between elevated box of catering truck and the aircraft in an efficient manner Perform safety inspection of truck prior and after shift Assist with preparing Personal Supply Kits Prepare soda and beverage carts Coordinate with the manager and other employees to turn multiple planes at the same time Ability to service International and domestic charter and scheduled flights Troubleshoot any interruption to normally scheduled and charter gate sheets Put delivered supplies in appropriate area Maintain cleanliness of workspace Communicate with other departments as necessary Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS 18+ years old with high school diploma or equivalent Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal Strong organizational skills Ability to multitask effectively Ability to anticipate needs of coworkers and passengers in a fast-paced environment. Must have the ability to work flexible work hours including availability to work holidays and weekends. Must have a valid driver's license Must be able to pass a background check PREFERRED SKILLS Airline experience Forklift experience Operating a box truck with and without air brakes WORK ENVIRONMENT This job operates both indoors and outdoors. When working indoors this position will be working in a warehouse environment. While working outside the employee will be exposed to various weather such as rain, sleet, snow, hot and cold weather. While working outside the employee might work during the day or night.In addition, this position is exposed to loud noises from arriving and departing planes. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands or finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee will frequently push or pull carts weighing up to 200 pounds. The employee is required to frequently work at heights around fifteen feet.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, low light and nighttime vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
