Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Controller in our Non-Profit organization located in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States. The primary role of the Controller is to manage, supervise, and coordinate financial operations, ensuring the provision of timely, accurate financial data and protection of the organization's financial assets. This role also encompasses interim CFO duties, overseeing financial operations in the absence of a permanent CFO.

Responsibilities:

• Manage all accounting functions of the organization

• Develop policy and manage accounting software collaboratively

• Oversee banking and cash management

• Prepare financial reports and budgets

• Manage grant and designated funds

• Assist in developing new finance and accounting policies

• Coordinate audits and adhere to regulatory compliance

• Administer rent increase processing and other non-routine financial requirements

• Coordinate special projects

• Embody the organization's core behaviors emphasizing client commitment, relationship building, positivity, responsiveness, readiness, teamwork, courage, clear communication, openness to innovation, and respect for diversity, equity, and inclusion

• Utilize skills in 'Post-grant', 'Grant Accounting', 'Accounting management', 'Fund Accounting - Non-Profit', 'Year End Closings', 'Audit' to effectively execute duties and responsibilities. Requirements • Requires a minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role or related field.

• Extensive knowledge and experience in Post-grant and Grant Accounting.

• Proven experience in Accounting management, Fund Accounting for Non-Profits, and Year End Closings.

• Demonstrated ability in handling audits and related activities.

• Ability to develop and implement financial and operational strategies.

• Strong understanding of nonprofit accounting in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

• Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite and accounting software.

• Excellent leadership and team management skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; advanced degree preferred.

• CPA or other relevant certification is a plus.
