ManpowerGroup Electrical Designer in Minneapolis, Minnesota

A client of ours is seeking an experienced Electrical Designer to join their team on a permanent basis. This role will design and implement electrical control systems for custom machinery from concept through delivery. Seeking candidates with a strong machine design background. This role could also offer lead potential in the future.

Job Title: Electrical Designer

Location: Blaine, MN

Salary: 80-100k, depends on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Design cost-effective control systems for custom machinery, including component selection, circuit design, safety analysis, and technical documentation.

  • Understand and adhere to project specifications, including mechanical and software requirements, to implement suitable hardware solutions.

  • Generate electrical schematics, process & instrumentation diagrams, and control panel layouts.

  • Communicate effectively with purchasing to ensure accurate and timely procurement of commercial components.

  • Coordinate with shop personnel during the electrical assembly of control systems and machines

Requirements

  • AAS degree in engineering or related field to electrical design

  • 3+ years of electrical design experience ideally within machine design

  • Proficiency in the design of electrical control systems for industrial machinery, including power distribution, PLC configuration, and machine safety.

  • Experience in preparing engineering documentation including Electrical Schematics, Bills of Material, Process & Instrumentation Diagrams, and Operator and Maintenance Manuals.

  • Intimate knowledge of an Electrical Engineering CAD program, such as SolidWorks Electrical, AutoCAD Electrical, ePlan, or similar product.

  • Working knowledge of standards relevant to industrial machinery, including NFPA79, UL508A, NEC, EN ISO 13849 and IEC/EN 62061.
