WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER The Mississippi River Basin Program Coordinator will support the Mississippi River Basin program (MsB) by: Understanding the background, goals and priorities of the MsB program. Supporting the MsB program through administrative support to the Shared Leadership Team. Managing a range of projects Coordinating meeting and event production for 10-100 participants. The Program Coordinator is an integral member of the Mississippi River Basin team. An organized self-starter with strong relationship-building skills, you will use your understanding of MsB program goals and priorities and administrative skills to support the MsB program and shared leadership team in a variety of administrative support tasks, which will include travel arrangements, calendar management, drafting correspondence, processing expenses, and scheduling and coordinating logistics of meetings and special events. Using a range of systems and resources, you will maintain, track and research data, and produce and review reports for MsB shared leadership team. Thanks to a sound understanding of policies and procedures, you will provide guidance in satisfying administrative requirements, training, and effectiveness. The MsB Program Coordinator will coordinate activities with multiple variables, setting realistic deadlines and managing the timeline, and communicating with various Conservancy programs, donors, vendors and business partners. Knowing how MsB relates to the big picture & contributes to the overall strategy, you will be a resource for the team, to help solve problems and find better ways of working. With an understanding of fundraising, you will also support the coordination, execution and reporting of multi-year grants. And as an experienced event producer, you will understand TNC event contract policies and procedures, evaluate potential meeting and special event venues and vendors, negotiate contracts that achieve the meeting/event goals within the MsB meeting budget, process payments and keep records of expenses. WHAT YOU'LL BRING Bachelor's degree and 3 years related experience; managing and implementing multiple projects and complex processes negotiating agreements event/meeting planning experience Experience with current technology and comfort/desire to learn new technology Ability to work with cross-functional teams in a collaborate role Proficient in interpreting guidelines and manipulating, analyzing, and interpreting data Strong organization, planning, and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail Be / become proficient with Highly Effective Teams and Conversant techniques Experience generating reports and interpreting data Experience in business writing, editing, and proofreading Experience organizing time and managing diverse activities to meet deadlines Experience working with and across teams while communicating with a wide range of people DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experiences are appreciated. Ability to analyze information for the purpose of coordinating and planning activities and solving problems. Ability to use existing technology to achieve desired results. ADDITIONAL JOB INFORMATION The goal of the Mississippi River Basin (MsB) Program is to restore and protect two million acres of floodplains to mitigate flood risk and protect biodiversity on North America's biggest river system. Success depends on collaboration with TNC staff, cities, farmers, agribusiness, policy makers and other watershed stakeholders in 31 states to restore the river to health that will reverberate throughout the communities that rely on the river and Gulf for generations to come.
