The applicant will work with several faculty and staff members across Summer 2024, on different aspects of the research process, related to school segregation and its effects. The applicant is expected to attend the weekly workgroup meetings (Wednesdays at 3-4pm Central time) as part of this position. Research tasks that the applicant may undertake include: conducting literature reviews; extracting, organizing, and summarizing gold standard designs and measures of segregation or outcomes from prior segregation studies; acquiring datasets, including by helping to fill out and submit data agreements; cleaning data; variable creation, coding, and documentation of data decisions; merging datasets; descriptive data analysis; visualizing results; writing. Qualifications Requirements of the position include an understanding of, and experience with, data analysis and basic statistical coding in a programming language such as R, Stata, or SAS; and experience manipulating data in Excel. Applicants should have a Bachelors degree, or be matriculating towards one. Applicants should be organized, logical, independent, detail oriented, ethically grounded and honest, curious to learn and interested to contribute to interdisciplinary team science.
