Apogee Enterprises Inc Sr. Data Engineer in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Apogee Services Inc. Position Summary Apogee's Data Strategy & Governance organization focuses on implementing processes and solutions for Data Governance, Master Data Management and Data Analytics. This Data Engineer will fill a critical role in enhancing and supporting the Data Analytics environment for prioritized Apogee Data Domains; educating our IT & Business Partners; implementing and supporting future Data Integration and Data Analytics solutions; and consulting on data-related projects from the data engineering perspective across the organization. Responsibilities Enhance & Extend MDM Solution (Profisee) Collaborate with multiple internal/external stakeholders to implement and optimize end-to-end MDM Platform & DevOps solutions Create MDM roadmap for upgrades, enhancements, and domain expansions Conduct source system analysis and data profiling for lifecycle management Design, develop, and maintain scalable and robust data pipeline architectures, ensuring data quality and consistency across multiple data sources Collaborate with the Business Intelligence team and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into effective and scalable technical solutions Help implement best practices for data governance, data security, and data privacy, ensuring compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards Develop and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to support data ingestion, transformation, and integration from various sources, including APIs, databases, and external data providers Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal downtime Organize and monitor testing, training, documentation, and sign offs related to data platforms Configure and implement data management and analytic platform changes Document data pipeline architectures, workflows, and procedures for internal and external stakeholders Work closely with cross-functional teams to support the integration of data-driven insights into business processes and decision-making Experience & Skills Experience: Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a proven track record of designing and implementing complex data pipelines Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL, data modeling, and data warehousing concepts Proficient in the Microsoft Azure framework (e.g., Analysis Service, Data Factory, ...) Experience with the Microsoft Power BI data visualization tool Experience with Snowflake Data Cloud (preferred) Required Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders A strong desire to stay up to date with the latest industry trends and advancements in data engineering #LI-TV1 Apogee and our brands are an equal opportunity employer.
