Job Duties and Responsibilities Clean, sanitize and maintain laboratory bench space and equipment such as glassware, aspiration bottles, water bathes and CO2 incubators. Biohazard waste utilization by autoclaving Maintain and replace CO2 tanks Preparation of bacterial agar plates Preparation of buffers and solutions following standard lab protocols Maintain lab supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level while placing and expediting orders for supplies and verifying receipt of supplies Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations in conjunction with the laboratory About the Lab https://www.hi.umn.edu/research/research-sections/molecular-bioengineering-and-cancer-vaccine/ Qualifications Required Qualifications High School Diploma/GED or equivalent Ability to understand and follow written and oral instruction in English Ability to lift/push and pull up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation Ability to climb step ladder without accommodations Preferred Qualifications Prior laboratory experience Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail About the Department The Hormel Institute is an independent biomedical research institution within the University of Minnesota's Research and Innovation Office.
