Job Summary

We are looking for a dedicated and proficient Construction Safety Coordinator – Minto (18 Month Contract) to take the lead during a period of construction within the site. Serving as the expert in this crucial area. This role focuses on implementing and overseeing safety ensuring compliance with regulations and promoting a culture of safety. The successful candidate will play a key role in preventing workplace incidents and ensuring the health and safety of all project stakeholders.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and oversee safety plans and policies in alignment with industry standards and legal requirements.

  • Conduct induction training for staff, subcontractors, and visitors, ensuring comprehensive safety awareness.

  • Verify certification, licenses, and competencies of all site personnel, enhancing OHS regulation compliance.

  • Lead high-risk activity approvals, incident investigations, reporting, and analysis to mitigate future risks.

  • Perform site audits and inspections .

  • Collaborate with project management and site teams to integrate safety practices into daily operations effectively.

  • Manage comprehensive safety documentation, ensuring accurate record-keeping and compliance.

  • Offer expert OHS advice and support to project teams, aiding in the effective management of safety risks.

  • Engage with regulatory bodies and safety consultants, ensuring projects adhere to the highest safety standards.

  • Conducting risk assessment and enforcing preventative measures.

  • Conducting regular site inspections.

  • High level of initiative

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Comprehensive knowledge of OHS regulations, codes of practice, and industry standards

  • Proven ability to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement effective control measures
