Citigroup Java Technology Lead - Hybrid in Mississauga, Ontario

The Java Technology Lead is a senior level position responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to lead applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Responsibilities:

Partner with multiple management teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals as well as identify and define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvements

Resolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards

Provide expertise in area and advanced knowledge of applications programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint.

Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation

Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals

Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions

Serve as advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary

Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

8+ years of solid experience in java based technologies development .

Must have Technologies Java, SQL, Linux, MQ, Kafka, Restful web services, Spring MVC framework, Angular and core Java.

Also expecting good experience on Job scheduler like AutoSys

Capable of conceptualizing latest technology landscape requirement Micro services and Cloud Deployment along with DevOps pipeline and drives Technical solution

Strong understanding of Banking domain projects and able to handle E2E client/partner coordination.

Problem solving skills to resolve complicated technical challenges to provide effective solution and trouble shooting.

Hands on experience and expertise with Java / J2EE technologies, Spring-boot Framework, Restful Webservices, Hibernate, Spring JPA.

Knowledgeable in Front-end technologies - JavaScript, CSS, HTML, jQuery, Ajax and libraries or frameworks such as Angular, VueJS

Experience on working with on RDBMS like MySQL DB or PostgreSQL (Tables handling, SQL queries), Oracle (Database)

Onshore-Offshore team handling skills

Ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to teams and clients

Experience in Development projects

Nice to have skills:

Experience working in Agile projects

Works in a team covering business and technology with representatives from client to produce the overall quality delivery

Minimum 3+ years professional experience in designing scalable web applications.

Analytical thinking to examine data flow and connect the component/network in efficient way.

Strong knowledge on activities of every phase in the delivery from requirement analysis to product release and postproduction support.

Experience in using version control tool – GIT

Familiarity with build tools – Maven, Jenkins

Familiarity with Spring Cloud, Nginx, NodeJS, Redis.

Hands on experience on creating and deploying application artifacts like .war, .ear, etc. in application server

Experience in performance testing and tuning.

Ability to prioritize and manage several milestones and projects efficiently

Experience in managing and implementing successful projects delivery

Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one area of Applications Development

Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate

Demonstrated leadership and project management skills

Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication

Education:

Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

Master’s degree preferred
