The Senior Manager, Project Management is responsible for customer facing Professional Services Delivery across Ricoh for Project Management. This position develops and delivers strategy, tools, materials, processes, team member education and mentorship. The Senior Manager, Project Management is measured on the efficiency of the departments, utilization of team members, and effectiveness of the services offering(s).
The position is also responsible for People Management activities, including but not limited to: hiring, coaching, performance management, development, corrective action and termination.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for direct management of team members and their achievement of the goals of their respective business unit
Develops, grows and maintains the customer facing Project Management practice and team
Works with Sales, Sales Engineering, Marketing and Services leadership to create and implement a go to market and delivery strategy for the team
Works with Services leadership to create and implement business development strategy including education, mentoring and support of all sales and technical personnel engaged in the sale and/or delivery of professional services in Ricoh
Participates in and contributes to presales activity and/or strategy related to large, strategic sales
Develops and maintains relationships with other Ricoh divisions
Shares ultimate responsibility for the successful delivery of RICOH projects, working where required with dedicated project management, analysts, consultants, trainers and other delivery personnel to ensure success
Provides accurate and timely information and support as required for RICOH financial function for the business unit
Responsible for creation and provision of PMO revenue forecasts, reporting and support of the billing process acting with ultimate responsibility for accuracy of billing for Project Management
Monitors and manages the marketability of billable staff in the team
Provides status reports on business activity as required by Services leadership
Works with Services leadership to define and implement new and existing service offerings for his/her team, including definition of required competencies, development of supporting materials (with assistance of team members) and initial execution
Collaborates and builds processes, tools and facilitates adoption by the Professional Services and Technical Services Delivery organization
Responsible for People Management activities, including but not limited to: hiring, coaching, performance management, development, corrective action and termination
Other duties as assigned by manager
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Post Secondary Education
Minimum of 8 years industry experience working in a Project Management or Project Delivery role
Project Management Certification required (PMP, or PRINCE2)
ITIL Foundations (V3 min) required
Other recognized Professional Certifications (IT, Accounting, Engineering, Business Analysis, CBAP) an asset
SKILLS:
High level of proficiency in PMI fundamentals and other relevant methodologies (Agile, SCRUM)
Working knowledge of the SDLC and IT industry applications, networking, device connectivity, scanning, printing and document management technologies
Strong understanding of Professional Services Sales and Delivery
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills to clearly present information in positive and negative circumstances
Ability to provide error-free work within tight deadlines and strict expectations
Exceptional multi-tasking and time management skills
Strong interpersonal skills. Must be a diplomatic, tactful, outgoing and an assertive communicator -- able to deal with different types of personalities and communication styles
Must demonstrate initiative and be able to anticipate the needs of Services & Regional teams
Must be self-motivated and possess a professional attitude
Experience in setting goals by defining and prioritizing specific, realistic objectives is required
Ability to maintain positive, productive relationships with co-workers, peers, management, sales, and production departments and ability to motivate individuals and groups
Proficiency in the use of MS Office applications, Salesforce.com, Service NOW
Ability to recognize market trends by collecting, organizing and analyzing statistical data
Independent judgment to make sound, justifiable decisions and take action in solving problems
