Be the Backbone of Aircraft Operations: Become a Ground Support Technician at PDS Tech Commercial
PDS Tech Commercial is looking for a dedicated Ground Support Technician to join our dynamic Ground Support Team based in Mobile, AL. In this critical role, you will ensure the smooth and safe movement of aircraft and equipment, supporting pre-flight preparations and ensuring readiness for operations. Location: Mobile, AL, 36615
Payrate: $18.50/HR
What You’ll Be Doing:
Overhead Crane Operations: Operate overhead cranes in multiple hangars, including the A320 and A220 Final Assembly Lines, to receive and deliver major aircraft components using various crane configurations and lifting devices.
Aircraft Movement: Safely operate heavy aircraft tow tugs to move aircraft in and out of hangars during pre-Final Operational Testing, ensuring precise aircraft positioning.
Aircraft System Readiness: Ensure the proper configuration of aircraft towing operations, cargo loading, aircraft mooring, and electrical power connections, following the Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM).
Logistics Coordination: Coordinate logistical support for cannibalization, reallocation, and out-of-sequence requests, ensuring timely returns of sea transport jigs and material handling.
Heavy Equipment Operation: Use heavy equipment (such as a 30k forklift and articulating man lifts) to load/unload shipping containers and support unloading from sea jigs at heights up to 30 feet.
Fueling Operations: Conduct fueling activities for ground support equipment (GSE), ensuring safe and efficient fuel handling.
Documentation & Reporting: Accurately record completed work and work-in-progress, using daily job cards to track activities, and notify affected parties of clerical errors or incomplete documentation.
Training and Safety: Complete daily pre-operational inspections of GSE, maintain up-to-date training records in EHS and SAP, and follow all safety procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
What We’re Looking For:
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
3+ years of experience working with overhead cranes.
3+ years of experience in aviation ramp operations.
3+ years of experience operating heavy equipment (such as forklifts, man lifts, and scissor lifts).
Strong understanding of logistics operations and aircraft system readiness.
Preferred:
Experience using SAP for documentation and operations.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic aviation environment.
MAA AOA training or willingness to obtain it.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and carry up to 20 lbs .
Ability to stand, walk, squat, kneel, and occasionally sit for extended periods.
Must be able to work with various equipment and tools while maintaining safety standards.
Ability to travel as required and work on uneven indoor/outdoor surfaces.
