National Power, LLC Electrical Journeyman in Modesto, California

Summary

National Power, LLC is actively seeking an experienced Electrical Journeyman. Under the general direction of and reporting to the Broadband Service Manager, you will play a pivotal role in installing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems in diverse settings.

The ideal candidate will possess not only technical expertise but also a positive attitude, strong teamwork skills, and a commitment to safety.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and industrial electrical systems.

  • Skillfully terminate electrical panels, circuit breakers, and transformers, ensuring proper connections and compliance with electrical codes.

  • Read and interpret electrical blueprints and manufacturer's specifications, ensuring accurate implementation of project requirements.

  • Complete preventative maintenance on electrical and grounding systems, including measuring, and recording voltages, amperages, and resistances. Use a thermal imaging camera to verify and troubleshoot potential issues.

  • Inspect electrical components for wear and corrosion.

  • Troubleshoot electrical systems and devices effectively, identifying and resolving issues to maintain optimal functionality.

  • Complete all job-related documentation in detail, including project reports, installation records, and other relevant paperwork. Submit completed documentation to the local manager.

  • Work collaboratively with team members, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth coordination and execution of electrical installations.

  • Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines, promoting a culture of safety awareness on job sites and during all electrical installations.

    Education & Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED; Completion of four-year electrical apprenticeship is preferred.

  • Possess 5+ years of experience in commercial electrical installation, covering Tenant Improvements (TI’s) and Ground-Up Construction from project initiation to completion.

  • Demonstrate familiarity with OSHA and NFPA70 regulations, as well as standard electrical safety practices.

    Skills and Other Qualifications

  • Must have excellent communication skills and be able to give verbal/written reports of job status, repair recommendations, equipment/supplies needed.

  • Must have an excellent driving record and a valid driver's license. The job WILL require driving long distances to job sites. Overnight stays in hotels up to 3 nights  per week are required. The company will cover hotel costs and provide a meal allowance per company guidelines. The overnight preventive maintenance has a schedule from 12:00 AM to 6:00 AM.

  • Must have good computer skills and be comfortable with Microsoft software to include Internet Explorer, Word, Excel, and Adobe (PDF’s).

  • The Journeyman would work from home and would ensure proper vehicle maintenance is performed, required parts inventory is maintained, ensure security of Company property to include cell phone, laptop computer, specialty tools and any other item assigned.

    Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive pay depending on previous experience and current certifications. Overtime is also a factor and is paid at 1.5 X base. We are a performance-based company and pay will ultimately reflect the employee’s productivity and overall performance.

  • Three weeks of paid vacation after 90 days (first year is pro-rated based on start date)
