Production Supervisor (Monroe, Ohio)

Position Summary:

  • This is a First-line production supervisor position responsible for coordinating and directing the activities of an assigned production area/ building to maximize productivity and minimize cost while maintaining quality

  • This person will be active in all aspects of the manufacturing process, including hands on production of products, quality improvements, cost reduction efforts, etc.

  • This supervisor will possess the knowledge to make decisions regarding manufacturing orders, best practices, recipe changes and where to produce products based on equipment availability

  • Determine the manufacturing priorities for their assigned area based on customer and safety stock needs

  • Ensure direct reports are following and implementing all EHS and Food Safety programs to ensure employee safety and product integrity

  • Activity coach and support the development of their subordinates

Job Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in the manufacturing of products in the assigned area, including reviewing run sheets, measuring raw materials, creating daily task list, monitoring reactions and distillations, running in process tests, receiving product, closing out process orders

  • Assure that all tasks are being completed in an efficient and timely manner, correct equipment is being utilized, proper procedures and practices are being applied. Work with Maintenance/Engineering to arrange the maintenance of equipment and facility to minimize down time

  • Determine upcoming production schedule and action to be taken, i.e. raw material requirements, equipment to be used, configuration of process system, nature of materials and process, and other pertinent information to insure proper synthesis of product

  • Assure that all employees in assigned area and self are adhering to Federal and ADM policies on EH&S, Food Safety, Sanitation and GMP practices

  • Advise, train and coach fellow employees through timely feedback and the PMP process

Job Requirements:

  • This person will have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Chemical Operator and has demonstrated an ability to lead

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry preferred or equivalent knowledge of Chemistry

  • Above average computer skills, AS400 preferred

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds

  • Ability to push or pull 600 pounds
