C.H. Robinson is seeking a Transportation Procurement Analyst to support a strategic customer by managing the execution of transportation bid events. In this role, you will oversee the end-to-end procurement process, ensuring seamless coordination between the customer, internal network, and account teams.
You will be responsible for data preparation, rate submissions, system configuration, user training, strategy development, bid optimization and analysis, and delivering results to the customer. Acting as the primary point of contact, you will facilitate key project meetings and ensure successful execution of deliverables aligned with customer objectives.
This role requires a balance of creativity, flexibility, and consistency to drive results. You will manage complex procurement projects while mastering group methodologies, procurement tools (Excel, Jaggaer ASO, etc.), and best practices to apply them effectively across various scenarios.
Key focus areas include:
International air and ocean transportation bids
Full truckload bids
Special procurement projects
Less-than-truckload (in partnership with internal specialized teams)
This role offers a hybrid work environment, with in-person collaboration every two weeks in Monterrey, Mexico, and the flexibility of remote work the rest of the time—combining teamwork with autonomy.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of this position consists of, but are not limited to, the following:
Manage international (air & ocean) and domestic (truckload) transportation bids in partnership with customers
Oversee and project manage less-than-truckload (LTL) bids
Analyze bid results and guide customers through cost/savings scenarios to optimize strategies
Manage customer expectations and relationships, both internally and externally
Build and maintain strong internal networks and transition relationships to carrier providers, customer stakeholders, and transportation management system (TMS) providers
Provide benchmarking insights and key performance indicator (KPI) support for customers
Define project teams and secure stakeholder commitment for project resources
Lead project tollgate meetings, ensuring deliverables and customer sign-off
Document project scope, communications, and expectations
Support and refine group methodologies, tools, techniques, and presentations
Track project hours by assignment, branch, and scope per group guidelines
Identify and mitigate project risks while escalating issues when necessary
Gather post-engagement feedback and conduct internal reviews
Ensure quality, accuracy, and timely delivery of all customer-facing documents
Assist sales and account management teams as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
High school diploma or GED
Fluent in English both written and verbal
Minimum 2 years of air and ocean transportation experience
Minimum 2 years of procurement or domestic full truckload transportation experience
Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Ability to travel up to 5% (domestically and internationally), typically 0-2 times per year
