Your Role at KIK - LAVO division

Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the role of this position is to design and organize logistical strategies to ensure the flow of a product from production to distribution, with a constant concern for optimizing the quality/cost/time triptych, using available resources to achieve the company's objectives.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Plan, implement and control the flow and storage of finished products through to final shipment;

  • Liaise and negotiate with various suppliers;

  • Monitor stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency;

  • Day-to-day management of staff, including attendance, training and performance;

  • Develop learning guides for shipping employees with Project Coordinator.

  • Monitor performance and efficiency for the department;

  • Monitor equipment maintenance;

  • Determine strategic needs for rolling stock replacement and acquisition;

  • Implement and ensure compliance with the rolling stock preventive maintenance plan;

  • Ensures proper application of company policies and procedures in its sector;

  • Maintain excellent communication with the management team;

  • Proper management of yard space and storage;

  • Coordinate the annual finished goods inventory;

  • Demonstrate leadership in maintaining a positive working environment and relationship within the team;

  • Reduce lead times and other variances related to operations in his/her area;

  • Optimize the use of work equipment by maintaining compliance;

  • Work closely with the health and safety committee.

  • Implement preventive health and safety initiatives within the department and carry out risk analyses in collaboration with the CSST.

  • Resolve any problems or claims that may arise; (Penalties)

  • Implement a cost reduction strategy; (Efficiency)

  • Design and produce relevant periodic operations reports;

  • Design and produce performance indicators;

  • Solve sector problems;

  • Carry out special projects;

  • Comply with provincial, federal and U.S. transportation laws, regulations and requirements;

  • Perform any other related tasks;

What You’ll Bring

  • High school diploma; college diploma; bachelor's degree in operations/business/logistics management or other relevant training

  • Supervisory experience in a unionized environment

  • Bilingual (English - French)

  • Distribution center experience

  • Experience in the freight transportation industry
