We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as a Supply Chain Planning Engineer in Morton, IL.

The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurement and the design and manufacture of Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).

Job Summary

This Supply Chain Planning Engineer position performs analysis to identify and develop business improvement opportunities with increasing scope and complexity to evaluate return on investment (ROI) of the opportunity.

Additional Info :

  • This position is located in Morton, IL and does not offer relocation

  • This position requires up to 10% travel

What You Will Do:

  • Identifying, defining, leading implementation of integrated supply chain solutions and performance improvements, including building internal and external alliances to explore opportunities.

  • Establishing and strengthening effective linkages, partnerships, and best practices with business partners and internal functions.

  • Investigating and incorporating industry benchmarks, metrics and best practices to develop optimal supply chains for suppliers and/or product sets.

  • Leads the development and analyzes data and information to identify and prioritize opportunities for improving performance and creating more cost-effective supply chains, inventory utilization, and business partnerships.

What You Have (Basic Skills Required):

  • Knowledge of SAS programming

  • Analytical Thinking : Quantifies the costs, benefits, risks and chances for success before recommending a course of action.

  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking : Advises others in analyzing and synthesizing relevant data and assessing alternatives.

  • Problem Solving : Organizes potential problem solvers and leads problem resolution efforts.

  • Logistics Management : Implements and maintains monitoring systems to provide information on shipment status, shipped date, in transit location, estimated arrival date, and actual delivery date.Develops and analyzes logistics plans that affect production, distribution, and inventory.

  • Knowledge of leading a team, coaching, and mentoring others

  • Our team embraces flexibility through a hybrid work model. In addition to working onsite at one of our PSLD facilities, our hybrid work model allows employees flexibility to work from home based on business need. In this position, you will have a variety of day-to-day job tasks. You will have opportunities for 2-3 projects that span across business units.
