Summary:
The Polysomnographic Technologist Pool is responsible for performance of basic polysomnographic recording procedures and works under direct supervision of a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist in accordance with technical standards in the Essential job functions approved by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM), American Association of Sleep Technologists (AAST) and The Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT). The Polysomnographic Technologist Pool performs patient set-up and monitors sleep studies, which includes calibration, documentation, therapeutic PAP titration, oxygen titration, troubleshooting, data analysis and recognition of normal data and artifact. The Polysomnographic Technologist Pool works under direct supervision of an RPSGT and/or the clinical director (MD, PhD, DO) or designee. Six months of EEG or Respiratory experience is acceptable in lieu of Technical school.
