r The University of Idaho, the leading public flagship institution for the state of Idaho, is seeking a new Director for the Counseling and Mental Health Center (CMHC). The new Director will be responsible for the overall direction, management, and clinical leadership of a multi-disciplinary and talented team that is charged with expanding and strengthening the range of mental health services provided to the students of the University of Idaho (both on the main campus located in Moscow and at the various distance/remote learning sites throughout the state). The position must be a licensed psychologist and/or can become licensed in Idaho and will be a full-time, 12-month clinical faculty appointment with the rank of associate or full professor. This position in ineligible for tenure. We are searching for well-qualified candidates who show support and commitment to our institutional and departmental mission, values and goals.The Director is responsible for the CMHCs by-laws and promotion process, in conjunction with the Vice Provost for Student Affairs office.The Director will join a multidisciplinary team and spend the majority of their time providing oversight for the programs within the CMHC which includes clinical services to students entailing initial appointments, crisis intervention, individual counseling and case management activities within the CMHCs established clinical model. The CMHC offers a broad range of clinical services which include individual counseling, group counseling, psychiatric services, psychological assessment, alcohol and other drug programming, biofeedback and trauma-informed treatments.The Director will also be expected to engage in scholarship and creative activities which may include professional presentations, program development and/or research and publications. The Director will be expected to maintain an active scholarly research agenda which will include a successful record of publications, presentations at professional meetings, and service on graduate student committees. The position will be 80% service and leadership; 15% scholarly and creative activities; and 5% Outreach. Licensure as a psychologist in Idaho within one year of the start date is a requirement of this position.Rank will be determined by the ways in which the candidate meets the criteria in the unit and Student Affairs bylaws.

rrMinimum Qualifications:

  • Completed doctorate in counseling/clinical psychology from an APA accredited program
  • 5 years experience of progressive leadership within a mental health clinical settings
  • Eligibility for licensure as a psychologist in the State of Idaho
  • Experience in providing clinical services to an adult populationn
  • Experience in providing culturally competent services to a diverse client population
  • Experience in providing risk assessment and crisis intervention
  • Experience in working with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
  • Ability to respond to critical university incidents after hours and/or weekends

rrPreferred Qualifications:

  • Leadership and directorship experience in a clinical setting
  • Experience in a University Counseling Center
  • Demonstrated history of scholarly research and publications
  • Demonstrated history of scholarly presentations at professional conferences and meetings
  • Experience serving on behavior intervention eams
  • An understanding of and appreciation for the intersection between clinical health services and behavioral health in an integrated model of patient care
  • Experience providing psychological assessments to the adult population
  • Professional skills and commitment to working with students, colleagues, and stakeholders from a wide range of backgrounds, life experiences, abilities, and perspectives
  • Multi-lingual skills
