rrPosition Summary:
rThe HR Specialist will support the UI recruitment process and other HR
related duties.
Duties may include:
- Apply Electronic Personnel Action Forms (EPAFs)
- Assist in the development and implementation of policies and
procedures
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, policies and procedures
and funding source requirements
- Support the UI recruitment process
- Research problems, rules, policies and procedures and explaining to
staff and potential employees
- Respond to requests for information
- Review, develop and maintain accurate and timely data, records and
correspondence
- Collect, analyze and compile information
- Assist with training on related topics
- Maintain and ensure a confidential environment at all times
- Provide customer service
- Perform related work contributing to team efforts
- Other duties as assigned
rrMinimum Qualifications:
r
- High School diploma or equivalent

- Two years of experience working in Human Resources or Payroll
- Three years of customer service experience
Demonstrated experience with/in:
- Mentoring, conducting training and making presentations to small or
large groups
- Working with individuals of various backgrounds
- Developing, evaluating and recommending program procedures, written
training materials and manuals
- Providing technical program assistance to staff
rrPreferred Qualifications:
r
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, time management skills and
attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Knowledge of UI policies, procedures and practices, and familiarity
with UI departments and services
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other employees
Experience with/in:
- HR Banner module
- Working in a higher education environment
- Working in a payroll office setting and/or possess strong
bookkeeping skills
- Working with international employment authorizations and tax
treaties
- Reviewing documents for compliance with established procedures
