About the Position

The Project Engineer is part of the project management team that includes the project manager, project coordinator, and superintendent. The Project Engineer’s responsibilities are a sub-set of the Project Manager’s responsibilities. This role is a step/building block towards becoming a Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager. This person must be willing to be teachable and take direction well with the willingness to take on a variety of tasks. IMCO is hiring for an exciting large treatment plant project, with future work in the region already planned.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensuring Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) is emphasized throughout all phases of the project

  • Establishing a collaborative work environment for the project team members

  • Communicate effectively with Subcontractors, Suppliers, design partners, and owners.

  • Demonstrate effective internal working relationships with company management, administration staff, and craft management

  • Participate in meetings with clients, contractors, and internal staff.

  • Preparing written communications and reports.

  • Assisting with controlling the project’s cost and schedule by ensuring that effective project controls are in place

  • Assist with pre-construction job set-up and planning

  • Receive, review, forward, and track the status of submittals and RFIs

  • Maintain project records

    Compensation and Benefits

  • Compensation: $85,000- $100,000 anticipated annual salary. DOE.

  • Medical, vision, and dental insurance coverage available on the first day of the month following 60 days of employment .

  • 401(k) match on eligible wages and available for eligible employees on the first of the month following 60 days of employment.

  • 100% contribution matching up to 4% of the employee-eligible wages.

  • Paid time off.

  • Relocation will not be offered.

    Location & commitments

  • Project Location – Moses Lake, Washington

  • Travel Requirements – Travel to our corporate office in Ferndale once a week until the Project site kick-off happens in October 2024. October through July 2025 will be based solely out of Moses Lake, WA.

  • Project scope and duration – The job is set for completion in July 2024. Additional exciting projects have been secured in the PNW area providing employees with stable, consistent work past the completion of the Moses Lake project.

    Requirements and Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of construction industry experience. Water or wastewater construction experience is a plus.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Construction management, engineering, or another technical field from an accredited university.

  • Ability to foster collaborative relationships within IMCO and with clients and partners

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-effective manner.

  • Strong technical knowledge and awareness of details to be able to recognize when technical problems are developing and implement effective solutions.

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience with and able to navigate Microsoft Office Programs: Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams.

  • Experience with and able to navigate traditional Computer file/folder structure.

  • Experience with or ability to learn multiple Construction programs including HCSS Programs and Bluebeam.

  • Experience in the construction field is recommended.

  • Pre-employment drug testing required.

  • Criminal background check required.
