BUSINESS CONTRIBUTION:
The successful candidate will share responsibility, with the shift
supervisor, for maintaining the production, quality, and safety for the
fabrication/machining department. This position requires the ability to
operate and train others on a various of machining centers including burn
tables, presses, rolls, and other CNC machines.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Operations Planning and Support (80%)
Support all company policies, work-rules, and management decisions.
Support and promote continuous improvement initiatives.
Share responsibility for the scheduling of work of various departments.
Share responsibility for maintaining or meeting production numbers coming from
machine operations.
Share responsibility for ensuring all hot work orders are completed in a
timely manner including repairs, production, special requests from
engineering or development.
Support production supervisor in the rollout of New Product Introductions.
Assist in trouble shooting problems with machines and equipment, and if
necessary, assist maintenance team members in repairing.
Safety and Training Support (10%)
Promote an environment where working safely is the culture of the workforce.
This includes ensuring team members consistently follow safety rules,
identifying and eliminating hazards, and providing safety training.
Train or designate a trainer for all employees in need of training including
new team members and transferred team members.
In absence of production supervisor or when requested, evaluate production
needs of department and move employees accordingly, particularly in the
event of absences or workload changes.
Collaboration (10%)
Work cross-functionally with representatives from Engineering, Research and
Development, HR, Safety, and other departments on projects, problem
solving, and other issues when needed.
Promote information sharing with other shifts/team members to support
company needs and promote best practices.
Leadership & Support
Demonstrate proper procedures and adherence to rules and policies by example
Lead continuous improvement through the production, quality, and safety
requirement for the department.
Communication and Documentation
Maintain open communication through conversation and both formal and informal
documents
EDUCATION:
High School diploma or GED preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Five or more years of production/metal fabrication experience in
manufacturing.
SKILLS:

Ability to operate a variety of machining centers
Able to complete responsibilities in a timely, professional and quality
manner.
Solve problems analytically; search out relevant information and gauge its
