Description Robert Half is currently working with a client seeking a Payroll Manager. This Payroll Manager will be responsible for work on tax-related tasks, such as W2 forms, preparing reports and updating policies, and will help achieve standards that are necessary for growth within the financial department. This may be the role for you if you are a dynamic Payroll Manager with excellent communication, proven leadership, and are deadline driven.
How you will make an impact
Comply with relevant laws and internal policies
Coordinate timekeeping and payroll systems
Develop systems to process payroll account transactions (e.g., salaries, benefits, garnishments, deductions, taxes and third-party payments)
Regulate system upgrades and the processing of payroll changes (e.g., new hires, terminations, raises)
Collaborate with Human Resources (HR) and accounting teams
Create reports and ensure accuracy of records
Handle payroll tax audits and collaborate with auditors
Supervise and coach payroll clerks and assistants
Resolve issues and answer payroll-related questions Requirements
Previous experience with multi-location payroll and taxes
Professional in handling confidential business matters and information with discretion
Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources or related field
Sound understanding of current payroll procedures and related laws
2+ years of proven leadership experience as a payroll manager or similar role
Proficiency in a wide array of payroll applications
Strong organizational and leadership skills
5+ years of payroll experience
CPP, CPM, or other related professional certifications is a plus
Strong communication and social skills and able to receive criticism well
Strong understanding of compliance
