The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream from procurement to design and manufacturing to distribution. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurement and the design and manufacture of Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).
As the Senior Manager, Engineering you will be responsible for leading and developing an engineering team, manage projects from conception to production, optimize plant processes, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, while driving innovation and continuous improvement in manufacturing engineering.

This position is currently a hybrid in - office work model, requiring a 3-day weekly office presence onsite at our Mossville, IL office and remote work for the remaining days. However, work arrangements may be adjusted based on business needs.
What You Will Do:
Managing the engineering staff and activities with an emphasis on organizational goals achievement, professional development and continuous improvement.
Monitoring and continuously improving product and process performance, quality and cost-effectiveness for all engineering activities and deliverables.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain, to drive innovation and efficiency.
Work closely with manufacturing teams to optimize production processes and resolve technical issues.
Ensure all products meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
Providing leadership to create and maintain processes used to design, develop and manufacture components, systems, products, services, and technologies.
Managing engineering product and manufacturing process or quality issues, from concept through end of life cycle.
Oversee the design, prototyping, and testing of hose and coupling products to ensure compliance with industry standards (i.e., SAE, ISO).
Optimize materials, manufacturing processes, and product designs for durability, flexibility, and performance.
Conduct failure analysis and implement improvements to enhance product reliability.
Manage engineering documentation, including CAD models, drawings, and technical specifications.
Other duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time-to-time.
What You Have (Basic Qualifications):
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Engineering.
Planning: Tactical and Strategic: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
Communicating for Impact: Knowledge of the concepts, tools and techniques for effective listening and communicating; ability to apply these theories to receive, transmit and accurately interpret information and ideas to influence others in various situations.
Customer/Market Focus: Understanding of the importance of remaining aware of shifting market priorities and ability to respond to internal and external customer needs in a manner that consistently adds value.
Managing People: Knowledge of processes involved in managing people; ability to lead successful teams, and diligently address issues related to performance and conflicts at the workplace.
Collaborating Globally: Knowledge of effective collaboration techniques and ability to build networks with people from different countries and cultures, think and work with them to bring positive impact and flourishing business results.
Influencing Through Expertise: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to use these to deepen own expertise and impact or challenge decisions within and outside own organization.

Previous experience leading a team of salaried Engineering professionals.
Previous experience in Components Manufacturing.
Previous Lean Operations/Continuous Improvement experience.
Previous experience communicating with senior leaders within the organization.

Summary Pay Range:
$169,320.00 - $253,920.00
