Our Mount Vernon, IL location is seeking PLT Plant 1 Tire Room Setup Tech Team Lead. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, is dependable and accountable.

THE POSITION

Responsible for machine related production items; i.e., quality, machine setup, and downtime (mechanical or electrical) and coordinating setup technicians.

Essential Functions (in order of job importance):

  1. Coordinate and work with various departments for major maintenance, machine changes, auxiliary equipment, component supplies, machine modifications, scrap and machine efficiency items.

  2. Scheduling, ordering, and inventory of tooling and upgrades of existing equipment.

  3. Participate in all the scheduling activities for the tire room, to determine capability and identify opportunities.

  4. Oversee the development of all production, trial build, and ETO recipe parameters for the tire building machines.

  5. Ensure cycle time tracking of all articles and close the gap between Quality, Output, and Efficiency.

  6. Supervise Setup (PCS & MSC) and handle discipline issues with the Lead Supervisor and HR when needed, along with scheduling vacations and over time.

  7. Administer the development and training of setup personnel. (continued education, new procedures, annual certifications)

  8. Oversee all MTC functions: monthly & bi-annual checks/calibrations, along with coordinating maintenance/ engineering issue when identified.

  9. Audit all set up related documentation to ensure that it is being completed at the frequency of Quality requirements.

  10. Track scrap 3 & 4 results with the goal of identifying trends and working with all plant teams to reduce below goals set.

  11. Maintain all PSC/MSC documentation in accordance to the necessary requirements.

  12. Promote a safe working environment.

  13. Participate and lead in sustaining 5S and required housekeeping.

  14. Perform other duties as directed by leadership.

  15. Ensure all ESH procedures, policies and legal requirements are implemented and monitored.

Basic Qualifications:

High School Diploma/GED and 2 years Tire Room Experience

Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Continental is not able to offer visa support

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous manufacturing experience or Associates Degree

5 Years Tire Room Experience

Leadership Experience
