PACCAR Corporate Emission Compliance team is seeking a Senior Engineer – GHG Compliance. This role is responsible for supporting the GHG Certification and Compliance team to keep the tasks up-to-date. This role also involves interaction throughout the PACCAR organization, EPA, and CARB. The successful candidate will be engaged in Greenhouse Gas Emissions Model (GEM) and Vehicle Engineering development and support Certification and Compliance.
Participate in Fuel Economy Optimization
Lead GEM Sensitivity Analysis
Quantify GEM impact of powertrain changes to hold engine, transmission, and axle suppliers accountable. Collaborate with suppliers on Greenhouse Gas and efficiency related topics.
Provide MATLAB analysis as needed on varied topics, including analysis of vehicle and engine test data
Act as GHG Technical Specialist
Lead GEM development
Collaborate with the engine development team. Support analysis of engine fuel maps and evaluate engine in vehicle performance
Actively participate in EMA meetings and working groups
Support Axle, Transmission Audits
Be an expert on GEM Inputs and interpretation of results
Support GHG Phase 3 Certification Readiness
Provide support to overall Certification and Compliance function
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Bachelor’s Degree required.
Master’s degree preferred.
Ability to perform in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment, and manage multiple priorities
Expertise in MATLAB
Expertise in EPA GEM simulation tool and working knowledge of fuel economy simulation techniques
Familiarity with heavy-duty vehicle test procedures and diesel engine test procedures
Experience quantifying the GHG impact of vehicle components and features including engines, transmissions, axles, control strategies, and other vehicle or powertrain attributes
Self-starter who effectively works under limited supervision.
Strong PC skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Self-directed and detail-oriented.
Ability to perform all assigned tasks from start to finish on schedule and with minimal instruction.
Ability to focus on more than one task at a time and the ability to shift back and forth between tasks.

The salary range for a Powertrain Validation Engineer is $110,600 - $173,000 annually. This position is also eligible for a holiday gift. Additionally, this role is eligible for the full range of benefit options listed above.
