Air Combat Command Arts and Crafts Center Assistant Manager (MVO) in Mountain Home AFB, Idaho

Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to the Arts and Crafts Center at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho. This is a Regular-Part Time position with 20 guaranteed hours per week, but may work up to 34. Responsibilities Under the direct supervision of the Arts and Crafts (A&C) manager, is the Assistant manager of Gunfighters' Kids Gym, Idaho Store, Framing and Engraving, Car Wash, Auto Skills, Gunfighter Theater, Coffee Shops and directly oversees Classes and Programs. Assumes the role of the first level supervisory personnel management responsibilities of all A&C activities in the absence of the manager. Organizes and leads or finds leaders for programs, events and classes for a diverse population including active duty, retirees, dependents, authorized civilians, and guests while working within the limitations in available funds, facilities, staff, volunteers and resources. Assists in publicizing A&C activities insuring maximum effectiveness in attracting and motivating participants. Assists in the selection, purchasing and maintaining of equipment, supplies, and services needed for A&C activities. Helps A&C manager develop operating and capital requirements budgets, including preparing reports, analyzing financial results, drafting 5-year plans, to meet the various Arts and Crafts departments' Class and Program objectives. Maintains an effective resource protection program for funds while acting as a cashier, preparing cost center reports, managing the Point-Of-Sale (POS) and making deposits. Actively trains staff and volunteers on policies and procedures for operating various A&C equipment. Schedules recurring and nonrecurring repairs and maintenance of the equipment assigned to the program and insures timely performance of these repairs. Evaluates, purchases, prices, and sells a wide range of resale items based on retail trends. Monitors several social media outlets and responds to customer feedback. Performs the following: Drives one or more types of motor vehicles to include passenger vehicles, passenger vans, and pickup trucks on the basis of specific assignments and schedules. Reads maps and judge's road, traffic, water, snow and weather conditions to determine the safest and fastest route. Performs other related duties assigned. Qualifying Experience: Employee must have general experience gained in assisting or progressive responsibility in the operation of a government or civilian retail facility, event planning, or food service environment. Must have experience utilizing office automation software (MS Windows, MS Office, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel). Must also possess experience which provides knowledge of cash handling procedures and sales operations such as: receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit, and use of cash accountability control methods. Knowledge of fire, safety, and health regulations. Ability to supervise, provide work direction, train and schedule subordinates or have experience which shows the potentials to develop these qualities. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. Additional Information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
