Our client is seeking an Azure Solutions Architect to join their team.

Azure Solutions Architect

Location: Remote

Pay rate: $85/hr

This person will work in collaboration with a Service Engineer, this person should be a skilled Azure Solutions Architect with direct Linux knowledge.

The main function of a Cloud Technology Consultant is to establish system information requirements using analysis of information in the development of enterprise-wide or large-scale information systems.

  • Designs architecture to include the software, hardware, and communications to support the total requirements as well as provide for present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces.

  • Ensures these systems are compatible and in compliance with the standards for agency IT architectures, and profiles of standards as they apply to the implementation and specific to the solution for the platform, integration with other systems, and the external interfaces.

  • Ensures that the common operating environment is compliant. Evaluates analytically and systematically problems of workflows, organization and planning and develops appropriate corrective action

  • Provides daily supervision and direction to staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required. MBA or other related advanced degree preferred

  • 10+ years’ experience required.

  • Experience with broad technology delivery, including custom development using various development languages.

  • Experience with providing technical leadership, mentoring on software engineering design, development, and frameworks, analyzing alternatives, and presenting technical options to leads and clients.

  • Experience with driving technical planning and solutions for small software portfolio, including authoring or managing the development of software designs, managing vendor evaluations, and justifying technical recommendations.

  • Ability to apply fundamental concepts, processes, practices, and procedures on technical assignments.

  • Requires practical experience and training.

Typical Day in the Role

  • Purpose of the Team : The purpose of this team is to support the Microsoft Silicon development efforts. All the custom computer chips that go into Xbox, the silicon that goes into surface and Azure. They design the work for the AI accelerator in the custom CPUs. They manage the IT systems to enable engineering primarily in high performance computer and device validation support.

  • Key projects: This role will be deconstructing an existing Azure service that was created by an internal team who has been disbanded. A few teams depend on the service; therefore, this team has been charged with documenting and maintaining the process.This worker will be deconstructing the existing Azure service to determine how it works and then creating documentation to educate the team.

  • Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm: The role will consist of the following,Starting off in the role:50% meetings while determine context and usability50% heads down deconstructing and documentingThen will transition to 12% meetings50% heads down deconstructing and documenting.

  • Years of Experience Required: 10+ overall years of experience in the field.

  • Degrees or certifications required: certification in cloud solution architect is required to be eligible for this role.

  • Disqualifiers: Candidates who lack experience with systems automation will not be eligible for the role.

  • Best vs. Average: The ideal resume would contain experience in electronic design automation; specifically electronic design automation in Cloud

  • Performance Indicators: Performance will be assessed based on meeting deadlines with sufficient quality of work. The cloud team architects will review work for comprehension.

Top 3 Hard Skills Required + Years of Experience

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience with Azure cloud infrastructure as a service

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience with Systems automation

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with documentation
