Job Description

Job Overview

We are hiring a Materials Planner to strategize, coordinate, and oversee the flow of materials and returns across the production cycle to ensure the availability of essential materials needed to finalize jobs. Your primary responsibilities will include timely material planning to align with production plans and scheduled deliveries, as well as maintaining inventory control over assigned materials. This position requires performing duties with minimal supervision while exercising independent decision-making within the framework of company policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Utilize the master schedule to establish the sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates as per sales forecasts or customer orders.

  • Plan and schedule workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequence and lead times.

  • Collaborate with department supervisors to determine the status of assigned projects.

  • Revise production schedules as necessary due to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, in coordination with management, sales, production or engineering.

  • Proficient in at least one MRP system.

  • Expedite operations that cause schedule delays and adjust schedules to accommodate unforeseen conditions.

  • Release Manufacturing Orders to meet MRP schedule and production utilization.

  • Monitor shortages and collaborate closely with related departments to address them.

  • Maintain timely control of orders, amendments, shipping notices, and other documents to ensure accurate retention of records.

  • Plan the sequence of fabrication, assembly, installation, and other manufacturing operations to guide production workers.

  • Actively participate as a key member in weekly planning and MRB meetings.

  • Maintain daily availability, including evenings and weekends if required, to meet goals and deadlines.

  • Adhere to all import/export requirements, consulting with facility import/export personnel as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in a related field and 5-10 years of directly related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Basic Knowledge of ISO and/or AS9100

  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/6 Sigma/Kaizen

  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Solid verbal and written skills

  • Commitment to Quality, Productivity, and execution speed.

  • Must be a US Person

Please note the salary range posted below is a general guideline for this job level and location. When extending an offer, a variety of factors are considered such as responsibilities of the position, relevant education and experience, certifications, knowledge, and skills.

Salary Range:

$74,800.00-$99,880.000
