Position available: Business Manager.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day financial operations of the school district,
including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and budget
preparation.
- Oversee bookkeeping functions, ensuring accurate and timely
recording of financial transactions.
- Prepare and reconcile financial statements, reports, and other
financial documents.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and make recommendations
for improving financial efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of district assets and liabilities.
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard financial
assets.
- Oversee the procurement process for goods and services.
- Supervise and train bookkeeping staff.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local financial
regulations.
- Work collaboratively with the school board, superintendent, and
other staff members.
Qualifications
- Preferred 3-5 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting,
preferably in a school district setting (Comparable work experience
considered in place of degree)
- Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
(GAAP).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with accounting software (e.g., E-Finance).
Experience with grant management.
Familiarity with state and federal financial regulations for school
districts.
Technical and Personal Qualifications:
Clear a Background Check through the Arkansas Department of
Education state and federal criminal records checks
Clear a Central Registry Check through the Arkansas Child
Maltreatment Central Registry system, a division of the Arkansas
Department of Human Services
