COVID-19 Vaccination Policy:
On September 9 2021, President Joe Biden issued an executive order requiring the vaccination of employees at federal contractors. Premera Blue Cross, as a health plan within the federal employee benefits program, is designated as a federal contractor. As a Project Manager III , you will provide IT project management services for business unit and/or company-wide initiatives with accountability for medium to large-scale matrixed projects. Project durations will vary but generally could last 1-18 months. You’ll be responsible for detailed planning through implementation, applying standard project management methodologies to manage scope, budget, and timing. You may have the opportunity to participate in visioning process developing budget and scope as assigned. This role serves as IT lead on large-scale projects, may oversee the work of project support associates, and provides mentoring support and team leadership of the project team.
What you’ll do:
Develops and manages moderately complex project plans and budgets/financial data and resource needs
Manages conflicting priorities with other projects and matrixed team members to ensure project success
Prioritizes and influences team members, senior leaders and projects sponsor(s) to successfully execute on plan. Interfaces regularly with leadership up to the VP level
With leadership guidance, evaluates and solves difficult problems that impact the overall success of the assigned project(s)
Synthesizes disparate observations and data to create conclusions and make recommendations for project sponsor and/or leadership
Develops and communicates expectations and success measures with team and partners
Monitors process, progress and results against success measures
Communicates both orally and in written forms (formal and informal), with project team and partners
May supervise lower-level project support associates
Special projects and other duties as assigned
Operate in a highly technical environment
Must have the ability to quickly and effectively execute
Consults with clients and teammates to identify all facets of an issue and generate a solution. Understands potential impacts to processes and systems across organization and factors these into solutions. Excellent conceptualization, analytical and logic skills
What you’ll bring:
Bachelor’s degree or 4 years work experience (required)
External candidates must have 5 years project management experience (required)
Will consider internal candidates who have successfully demonstrated PM skills (proficient practitioner) if less than 5 years of experience (required)
Healthcare industry knowledge is helpful
Versed in multiple project management methods (e.g. Agile, Lean)
Great communication and strong leadership
Ability to critically reason through problems
Ability to communicate at all levels within an organization
Ability to be agile and successfully adapt and maneuver within complex organizations
