Intermountain Healthcare Senior Public Relations Specialist in Murray, Utah

Job Description:

Develops and executes public relations strategies and initiatives that market SelectHealth's products and services as well as enhances the company's reputation among all customer segments and the community. Establishes, fosters, and strengthens relationships and partnerships that share SelectHealth's desire to improve individual and community health, foster economic development and increase health literacy.

Job Essentials

  1. Identifies, evaluates and recommends future public relations opportunities. Provides strategic recommendations for corporate contributions and community benefit opportunities.

  2. Plans and executes community events and sponsorships; internal and external meetings; tradeshows; benefit fairs; open enrollment meetings; health and wellness expos; etc. Creates post-event summary and ROI reports as required.

  3. Represents SelectHealth at public appearances, presentations, meetings, or events. Ensures SelectHealth presence at all events appropriately reflects the brand.

  4. Establishes and maintains strategic cooperative relationships with representatives from companies, professional organizations, community groups, social service organizations, advocacy groups, non-profit organizations, civic groups, and governmental agencies.

  5. Writes and/or creates press releases, articles, editorials, press kits, brochures, publications, educational material, flyers, presentations, social media communications, and other marketing collateral for the purpose of promoting SelectHealth. Oversees creation of video and multi-media productions.

  6. Circulates printed material and company collateral, pitch stories, issue press releases, multi-media productions, presentations, etc. to media outlets, in an effort to generate positive publicity for SelectHealth.

  7. Creates opportunities for positive media exposure. Establishes speaking engagements and other opportunities for company leaders to educate constituents; engage customers, business leaders and civic leaders; and provide a face to SelectHealth.

  8. Leads the execution of SelectHealth's Community Sponsorships and Corporate Contributions policy by assisting with various projects and initiatives as assigned.

  9. Develops and execute social media communications and strategies. Remains current on social media tools, trends, applications, and vehicles.

10.Monitors and researches public and community relations strategies. Identifies areas of need, evaluates and recommends future public and community relations initiatives.

11.Works with advertising agencies, consultants, event organizers, and public relations firms on public and community relations initiatives.

12.Provides research and information to support annual budget development for Public Relations programs and initiatives.

13.Provides mentoring, training and direction to Public Relations Specialists.

14.Evaluates documentation and interprets metrics on key tasks, projects, and assignments; monitors and tracks positive and negative publicity received by SelectHealth.

15.Leads public relations projects and initiatives as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Health Promotion/Education, Marketing, or English. Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution. Education is verified.

Additional four years professional experience in public relations, communications, event planning / executing, fundraising, health promotions, or marketing.

Two years experience in healthcare or health insurance public relations.

Two years professional writing experience with demonstrated strong project leadership skills, interpersonal and relationship-building skills, and problem-resolution skills.

Demonstrated intermediate proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree

Experience with desktop publishing programs Adobe InDesign and Adobe Acrobat.

Ability to perform under stress and meet deadlines

Excellent writing and editing skills

Problem solving, mature judgment, flexibility and knowledge of the community and region

Physical Requirements:

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
