Position Summary:

The Work-Based Learning Center Coordinator will engage with students, campus partners, and community partners to cultivate student well-being, with the goal of increasing retention and completion among students enrolled in all programs with the intent of having gainful employment at graduation.

The WBLC Coordinator works closely with faculty and staff to provide a unique level of service to students. The coordinator should possess strong organizational skills. The WBLC coordinator requires a skillset that includes the ability perform accurate data collection and analysis as well as connecting with students, promoting and recruiting for programs.

Essential Functions:

• Develop, plan, and execute projects, programs, and events based on funding guidelines, program assessment data, and CWI initiatives and goals that will support and encourage the retention and gainful employment of students.

• Responsible for data collection, analysis, and reporting on all projects, programs, and events.

• Identify, track, provide support services, and connect identified students with appropriate CWI and community resources to help them overcome personal and economic barriers to their education and employment.

• Provide students with academic and career exploration opportunities to assist the transition from school to the workforce.

• Recruit, train, and supervise work-study student employees.

• Work with every student requesting services through the Work-Based Learning Center. This could include but is not limited to Job Placement, Internships, Externships, Work-Study Career Exploration, and Resume Reviews.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience including two-years working directly with students or clients.

• Ability to interpret academic and administrative policy.

• Strong technical abilities: database systems, online learning software, presentation software, Microsoft Office suites, or equivalent. Experience with Ellucian (Datatel) Colleague ERP or other major ERP systems preferred.

• Strong cross-cultural interpersonal and writing skills are necessary, including public

speaking skills and the ability to represent the college in a positive way to diverse populations.

• Evidence of a sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

• Strong event planning/coordination skills.

• Ability to work remotely as well as travel between various locations to provide programming and services.

• 2-3 years of experience in college/university counseling, advising, career counseling, or in goal-oriented, client-service work preferred

• Bilingual preferred (Spanish/English)
