NWI Aerostructures Industrial Engineering Intern in Nashville, Tennessee

NWI Nashville LLC manufactures complex aerostructure components of commercial, business, and military aircraft worldwide. We specialize in complex, structural and mechanical assemblies, machined components, and sheet metal fabrication.

NWI is currently seeking an Industrial Engineering Intern. The Industrial Engineering Intern position presents a fantastic opportunity for students majoring in Aerospace, Mechanical, Process, or Industrial Engineering programswho areeager to gain hands-on experience with aerospace techniques and methods used in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • As an intern, your responsibilities will include:
  • Conduct studies related to labor and equipment efficiency, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems.
  • Contribute to various IE-related projects involving time study projects, facility layouts, and Lean Manufacturing principles such as 5S, Standard Work, and Value Stream Mapping.
  • Work alongside IEs and Production staff to identify inefficiencies and implement solutions to improve productivity in machining, chemical processing, shot-peening, paint and/or assembly.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to work full-time for 10-12 weeks during Summer 2024.
  • Currently, an enrolled student attending a college or university.
  • Majoring in: Aerospace, Mechanical, Process, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Passion for the aerospace industry.
