Press Brake Operator Objective
We are seeking a skilled metal fabrication specialist to operate press brake equipment for precision bending and forming of various components. This position requires practical knowledge of fabrication techniques, blueprint interpretation, material properties, and precision measurement.
Responsibilities
Examine blueprints, specifications, and sample parts to determine dimensional requirements, operation sequences, and setup needs
Choose appropriate dies, tooling, and materials for press operations
Configure machine settings for optimal bending and forming performance
Manage computerized control systems through programming and adjustment
Monitor production output continuously to ensure quality standards are maintained
Conduct precise measurements using various instruments including micrometers, height gauges, calipers, and laser inspection systems
Perform finishing operations including deburring and implement proper part protection methods
Requirements
Demonstrated experience in press brake setup and operation
Knowledge of tooling selection for various bending applications
Quality control skills with ability to identify and correct out-of-tolerance conditions
Proficiency in blueprint reading across multiple view orientations
Ability to interpret materials lists and calculate bend allowances for different materials
Tool maintenance capabilities for punches and dies
Efficiency in meeting production time expectations
Material identification skills including size and finish specifications
CNC programming capability with adjustment expertise
Commitment to workplace safety protocols and requirements
