APPROXIMATE ANNUAL SALARY - $67,296.24 to $100,098.72 PAY GRADE: 36

The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position

Information Technology (IT) Technicians install, configure, monitor, and maintain networks and monitor and maintain help desk user support or mainframe and server operations.

Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others. The Aging and Disability Services Division is currently recruiting for a full-time IT Technician 6 in Carson City, Las Vegas or Reno/Sparks, Nevada. This recruitment may be used to fill current and future vacancies as they occur in the following program: Information Technology (IT).

The incumbent reports to the agency Information Security Officer (ISO). This position will implement information security initiatives with responsibility for the design, establishment, administration, and execution of the assigned portion of the division security program with a focus on operational security including vulnerability management, risk assessments and mitigation implementation. The incumbent will interact with internal and external inquiries to answer questions of information security standard procedures and solve information security problems. To Qualify:

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)

Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of IT work experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of network workstation hardware and software; OR one year of experience as an IT Technician V in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Requirements

This position is subject to call-out or call-back. Working evenings, weekends and/or holidays is required. A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.

Additional Position Criteria

This recruitment is only open to current classified employees in state service with at least six months of continuous, full-time equivalent service.
