The Position
Maintenance Repair Specialists perform a variety of skilled work in two or more of the mechanical and construction trades in order to repair, construct, and/or maintain buildings, grounds and equipment.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This position is located at Southern Desert Correctional Center (SDCC) in Indian Springs. Incumbents will perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting on equipment machinery, and facility systems. Duties include to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues; maintain accurate records of work performed, including reports on repairs and maintenance schedules. The incumbent will collaborate with other team members to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with safety standards; respond to emergency repair requests promptly to minimize downtime. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Four years of progressively responsible experience under the supervision of journey level trades persons in two or more of the major building or mechanical trades which included responsibility for performing a variety of repair and maintenance activities, laying out jobs and ordering materials; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.Special Requirements
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting is required.The Examination
