The Rotch-Jones-Duff House & Garden Museum (RJD) seeks a permanent
full-time Functions & Sales Manager (FSM) to help brand the Museum as an
accessible and welcoming site to visit, socialize, celebrate and work.
The FSM is the main contact at the museum for weekend visitation,
function rentals, and corporate members. This position oversees all
outside rentals of the property, from corporate meetings to weddings and
family parties. They are responsible for generating new leads and
clients, and earned income from function rentals and membership. In
partnership with the Executive Director, they design the scope of the
rental and membership programs. They work closely with other Functions
staff to oversee rental events. They are the sole staff member
responsible for ensuring that weekend public hours at the museum, event
rentals, and all public programs have sufficient staff coverage. The FSM
serves as the lead staff covering weekend museum shifts, event rentals,
membership receptions and public programs. They manage a seasonal events
staff of one to three people and report to the Executive Director. The
successful candidate will be personable, highly organized and efficient,
able to problem-solve and prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines,
and above all, be trustworthy and reliable. Preferred experience
includes familiarity with the local area and communities, excellent
communication skills, and at least three years of experience working in
hospitality, event rentals, or similar work. Proficiency with Microsoft
Office, Google Suite, and Zoom required. Staff at RJD serve as stewards
of an 1834 historic building and garden and as proactive members of the
cultural community, helping the Museum to serve and respond to the
interests of current and potential new audiences. RJD Staff are members
of a small team, working together towards accessibility, excellence,
inclusion, and meaningful experiences. The Museum?s one-acre plot and
1834 mansion serve as a unique location where true bonds with our
community can be made. Schedule: This position includes weekly hours for
the administration of function rentals, and Front Desk staffing.
Saturday hours are required. Additional hours are required as the
schedule of functions demand, mainly on weekends and throughout the
functions season (May through October). Compensation: The salary range
