Overview
The Rutgers Division of Intercollegiate Athletics sponsors 24 intercollegiate sports, comprised of 14 women's and 10 men's programs, that compete at the Division I level. The Scarlet Knights are members of the prestigious Big Ten Conference, the nation's premier academic and athletic conference, after officially joining the league on July 1, 2014. Known as "The Birthplace of College Football, Rutgers hosted Princeton on Nov. 6, 1869 in the first intercollegiate football game, with RU earning a 6-4 victory.
Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Director of Player Services for the Football department. The position reports to the Director of Football Equipment.Among the key duties of the position are the following:
  • Performs a variety of day-to-day responsibilities in support of the Football Program.
  • Performs duties assigned by the Head Football Coach within the football program's Equipment Operations department.
  • Supervises and directs Equipment Room Graduate Assistants and Student Managers.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Two (2) years of Graduate Assistant Equipment Manager experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Certifications/Licenses
  • A valid driver's license would be required for this position; Use of personal vehicle in order to travel for business demands.
  • Certified Athletic Equipment Manager through the Athletic Equipment Managers Association (AEMA) or completion of Certification within 1 year of employment.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Must possess strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, follow up, and follow through.
  • Must be detail oriented and possess excellent oral and written communicational skills.
  • Must possess a high level of confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of the Big Ten Football Conference and NCAA rules and regulations, particularly in regard to recruiting.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Work, Outlook, Access & Internet Explorer.
