Posting Summary | A postdoctoral associate is sought for a project investigating the microbial dechlorination of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins (dioxins). The candidate should have experience in anaerobic microbiology, molecular methods for microbiology, bioinformatic analyses and chemical analyses including gas chromatography mass spectrometry. Experience with anaerobic microbial culture, organohalide respiring bacteria, stable isotope probing and other chemical analyses including ion chromatography and high-performance liquid chromatography is desired. The candidate will be responsible for an externally funded research project and serve as a key member of a large multi-institutional project. |

Candidates should have experience in general laboratory procedures, data analyses, and scientific writing. |

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities | A working knowledge of microbial culturing, chemical analyses, molecular microbiology and bioinformatics is necessary. Ability to mentor and teach graduate and undergraduate students in the laboratory is required. |
