Posting Summary | The Nutritional Sciences Department - New Brunswick seeks a Part-time Lecturer to teach the undergraduate course, Food Customs & Nutrition Equity (11:709:245; 3 credit), synchronously (Monday & Thursday 2 to 3:20 PM ET) during the Fall 2022 semester. This course explores diverse cultural, migration and acculturation, religious, gender, economic, political, geographic, and climate influences that shape food availability, patterns, customs, and nutrition justice and nutritional health equity. Course will examine diverse cuisines around the world, common adaptations by immigrants to the United States, and compare nutrient composition of traditional staple foods. Interested candidates should have an advanced degree in nutrition or closely related field and be actively engaged in food availability, sustainability, and equity outreach with at least 5 years of relevant experience. Prior work experience in food equity programs and cultural foods as well as teaching undergraduate university level online courses addressing the course content is preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with the Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist (RDN) credential, demonstrated evidence of past teaching effectiveness, online synchronous teaching experience, and experience teaching in-person and quickly transitioning to online instruction during public health calamities. |
