Job Description
It’s an exciting time to join IFF as a Senior Commodity Manager. The right candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining a global commodity strategy supporting the regional raw materials category managers. This portfolio will include materials sourced regionally, with a common supply base and similar market forces. The individual is accountable for the commodity management and to guide the business on decisions related with Commodity based material, including support the sourcing strategy and participate on Category teams to align sourcing strategies with global, regional/cross regional, and local business needs. This position contributes to key company, functional and regional business strategies.
Job Requirements
Job Responsibilities:
Provide Commodity market insights and follow global and local commodity markets
Coordinate and support the regions to develop category strategies for assigned categories
Coordinate and track execution of global and regional category and sourcing strategies
Develop and improve cost models
Regularly analyze and communicate market intelligence and information to facilitate informed business and customer pricing decisions
Execute a disciplined application of IFF’s strategic sourcing methodology
Develop new and existing supplier partnerships and collaboration to support growth strategy with innovation and technology
Implement contingency planning to mitigate supply risks
-Alignment with Responsible Sourcing Team on Supplier and ingredient risk assessment. Ensure assigned suppliers complete Ecovadis and/or SEDEX assessments.
-Continue to advance IFF efforts in the area of sustainability.
Long Description
Required Experience
-Expert in the procurement area of responsibility with product depth and contacts in key supply markets (Commodities, preferentially Soft Commodities)
-Related supply chain experience in the space operating around raw materials, suppliers, supplier relationship management and supply chain best practices
-Strong knowledge of business practices and financial concepts/impact/analyses
-ERP (SAP, Oracle)
-Experience identifying, developing and promoting new and existing supplier relationships
-Engaging cross-functionally (R&D, Commercial, Creation, Production, Quality, etc) and experience in working in -matrix organizations
-Strong communication skills (written and oral) in English and global interaction
-Team leadership / project management / analytical skills
