*Summary: *Plans and prepares production schedules for manufacture of industrial or commercial products by performing the following duties.

 

*Essential Duties and Responsibilities *include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Draws up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.
  • Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements.
  • Plans and schedules workflow for fabrication department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times. 
  • Plans sequence of fabrication department to align with assembly needs.
  • Confers with department supervisors to determine status of assigned projects.  
  • Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.   
  • Prepares necessary production reports.  
  • Prepares lists of required materials, tools, and equipment and the purchase orders to obtain materials.

*Education and/or Experience: *Six to twelve months experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

*Language Skills: *Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.   Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 

*Mathematical Skills: *Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

*Computer Skills: *Database, inventory or manufacturing software, order processing systems, Google sheets/documents and MS Office software.

*Other Qualifications: *Must be willing work overtime on an as-needed basis to maintain production deadlines.
