The New Fairfield Board of Education and Town of New Fairfield Senior Accountant in New Fairfield, Connecticut

[POSITION: Senior Accountant [ [GENERAL DUTIES: The senior accountant is responsible for applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Procedures to analyze financial information, and prepare accurate and timely financial reports. The senior accountant [ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions. The position requires general accounting responsibilities, which includes preparing journal entries, intercompany transactions, account reconciliations, and accruals. [ [QUALIFICATIONS:** [Bachelor's degree in accounting, 5 years of experience with financial systems and budgets, financial reporting, financial data analysis, auditing, and taxation. [Knowledge of GAAP and auditing practices and principles. [Knowledge and experience of accounting computer applications (eFinancePlus or Munis). [Works well independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment. [Proven ability to set and achieve organizational goals. [Eager to learn and apply new information using specialized accounting software. [Computer skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook.

[SALARY: Per Bargaining Unit Contract (up to $37.60/hr depending on qualifications)
