About Your Opportunity:

A key member of the DOU Business Management team, working on national critical programmes, spanning maritime to future combat air. The Finance Business Partner supports contracts of work and their customers financially in a rapidly changing, growing and fast paced environment. The role is accountable for the accuracy and transparency of all financial aspects within a portfolio area, working alongside the programme function, and supporting several contracts simultaneously.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Partnering with the Account Leads to provide a full and accurate financial overview of their portfolio

  • Support the Leadership team strategically, engage and provide analysis which directly influence Programme and business decisions

  • Take ownership of assigned Accounts and Programmes, ensuring effective, accurate and timely management information is available including any Internal and Customer reporting requirements are met. This will include but not be limited to the IF (Indicated Final), AOP (Annual Operation Plan), monthly Account Reviews and contractual customer reporting

  • Perform frequent financial reviews at multiple levels to ensure correct revenue recognition and forecasting of FP contracts and EAC's are performed in line with NG policy

  • Maintain full awareness of the Programmes invoicing and cash positions, unbilled balances, backlog and de-booking requirements and work with the teams to ensure their status are at acceptable levels

Your Experience:

  • Excellent analytical skills , with a keen attention to detail

  • Adept at problem-solving, able to develop solutions to a variety of very complex problems

  • Proficient numerical skills, with advanced Microsoft Excel competency

  • Experience using Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau or Power BI

  • Proactive team worker, equally self-motivated and able to work autonomously
