Description

Robert Half is seeking a dedicated Bookkeeper for our client in the non-profit sector based in New Orleans, Louisiana. This role involves managing financial transactions, maintaining accounts, and preparing financial reports, among other responsibilities. This role offers a short-term contract to full time employment opportunity and is critical in ensuring the organization's financial records are accurate and up to date.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement an efficient system for accounting financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts and defining bookkeeping policies and procedures

• Maintain accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions

• Balance accounts by reconciling entries

• Keep the general ledger updated and balanced

• Maintain quality historical records by filing documents

• Produce financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information

• Create Accounts Receivable invoices, review payments received, and record deposits

• Utilize skills such as 'Account Reconciliation', 'Accounts Payable (AP)', 'Accounts Receivable (AR)', 'Bank Reconciliations', 'Bookkeeping', 'Data Entry', 'Microsoft Excel', 'Month End Close', 'Payroll', 'QuickBooks', and 'Sage 300' to perform job functions effectively

Requirements

• Proficiency in account reconciliation

• Experience with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)

• Familiarity with bank reconciliations

• Extensive knowledge in bookkeeping

• Proficiency in data entry

• Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel

• Experience in month end close

• Knowledge of payroll procedures

• Proficiency in QuickBooks

• Familiarity with Sage 300

• Previous experience in a non-profit organization is a plus

• Excellent time management and organizational skills

• Detail-oriented and able to work with a high level of accuracy

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
