As part of the Filing & Prosecution Administration team, we provide patent administrative support to Nokia's Patenting organization in building and managing the global patent portfolio. Specifically the team is responsible for setting and following filing and prosecution policies based on legal requirements, establishing best practices, performing in-house filing, interfacing with external associates to provide filing globally, handling incoming & outgoing IPR correspondence, docketing & task creation using online tools, ensuring data entry quality and accuracy, tracking deadlines, managing other administrative requirements, and working closely with in-house patent practitioners.
We are looking for a Patent Filing & Prosecution Specialist to join our team.
As part of the team, you will:
- Support practitioners in the filing and prosecution of US, PCT, and foreign patent applications
- Create and maintain accurate records and docketing in patent database
- Prepare official correspondence including, but not limited to, application data sheets, declarations, powers of attorney, IDSs, responses to office actions, amendments, issue fee payments and extensions
- Perform hands-on filing, docketing, and reporting
- Track deadlines and provide reminders to practitioners
- Proactively manages patent prosecution docket, ensuring all deadlines are met in a timely manner
Location: The candidate should be located in Dallas, Texas or Murray Hill, New Jersey.
You have:
- Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate
- At least 3 years U.S. patent filing and prosecution experience at a law firm.
- In-depth knowledge of patent prosecution rules and procedures
- Exceptional attention to detail and deadlines
- Professional, self-disciplined, efficient, and capable of working independently
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, time management skills, and interpersonal skills
- Ideal candidates must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Team player
It would be nice if you also have:
- Experience in filing PCT applications directly with IB using ePCT and/or PCT with the US as receiving office is a plus
