Reporting to the Director of the CUNY Internship Programs (CIP), we are seeking an Assistant Director to help develop, implement and manage programming to meet the strategic goals of the University. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, solutions-oriented professional with experience in delivering successful programming impacting students in higher education.

Other Duties
Leadership and Development 50%:
Support the Director in overall strategic planning, coordination and implementation of program initiatives and professional development activities to meet targets and goals for student success in college
Collaborate with other CUNY campuses and external partners
Lead the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the program’s operations, policies, and documentation from recruitment through post-program support
Supervise and oversee DOE Program Manager, DOE Program Coordinator and the City Agency Program Manager on day-to-day communications and administrative tasks
Provide thought partnership and other support to staff in CIP and OCIP
Budget, Assessment, Marketing and Recruiting 20%
Draft and submit Budget Proposals
Manage the creation and oversight of program budgets
Ensure all budgets and agreements are executed
Collaborate with CUNY campuses to help meet recruitment goals
Support upkeep of social media platforms for all CIP
Responsible for developing and managing program metrics and assessments
Communication: 25%
Meet and collaborate with DOE, and City Agency Internship stakeholders on current and new program initiatives
Ensuring all program policies and timelines are met and adhered to
Provide excellent customer service to all partners/participants, troubleshooting situations as they arise
Acting as the primary contact for programs, including campus staff, agency partners and on-site supervisors

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required
5+ years of experience in project management, student development, human resources, career services or related fields, with time spent overseeing program operations and resolving programmatic issues
Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with a customer-focused approach to working and comfort communicating with college students.
Excellent virtual and in-person presentation skills to large audiences
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse populations in a fast-paced and high-volume work environment.
Ability to exercise sound judgment to analyze and solve problems.
Strong user of all MS Office/365 products, Excel, and aptitude to quickly pick up new systems.
Strong organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to manage in all directions in order to accomplish goals in a timely manner.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree Preferred
Excellent virtual and in-person presentation skills to large audiences
Ability to exercise sound judgment to analyze and solve problems
Knowledge of any of the following a plus: the CUNY system, CRM platforms
Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to rapidly establish good rapport and build relationships
Physical Requirements
This is a 70/30 hybrid position, subject to change. Remote work arrangements are not a right or entitlement of employment and, as such, are discretionary and subject to operational needs unless otherwise provided by the CUNY Flexible Work Guidelines

About the Research Foundation
The Research Foundation of The City University of New York (RFCUNY) was established as a not-for-profit educational corporation chartered by the State of New York in 1963. RFCUNY supports CUNY faculty and staff in identifying and obtaining external support (pre-award) from government and private sponsors and is responsible for the administration of all such funded programs (post-award).
RFCUNY stands between CUNY’s principal investigators (PIs) and the sponsors who support them and strives to fulfill its essential responsibilities to both groups.
