Pfizer Senior Financial Analyst in New York City, New York

We are seeking a Senior Finance Analyst to join our US Commercial Finance team, dedicated to supporting the CMO/CMAO/GAV division. This pivotal role encompasses a broad spectrum of financial responsibilities, including budgeting, spearheading strategic initiatives, and delivering insightful reporting to propel our company's financial and marketing objectives forward.

As an integral business partner within the CMO/CMAO/GAV Finance organization, you will provide vital operational support, ensuring optimal allocation of resources across Marketing, Medical, and Access expenditures.

Your expertise will be instrumental in developing and refining systems and processes, as well as in crafting financial reports that facilitate meticulous tracking of expenditures and monitoring of business performance.

Reporting directly to the Senior Director of CMO, CMAO, and GAV, you will thrive in a dynamic matrix environment, engaging with a diverse array of stakeholders from various CMO/CMAO/GAV, finance, and GBS teams.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Collaborate with the implementation of financial systems (like POD) and processes to ensure they are operational and addressing the needs of the internal customers

  • Review actuals and identifying potential areas of miscoded expenses

  • Manage month-end manual journal entries and reclassifications in alignment with thresholds and reclassification processes

  • Review 2-Way Match accruals for OpEx and Restructuring and identify areas of improvement for old / obsolete projects for FMs to communicate to CMO Finance Managers

  • Monitor for Unmapped CC additions and new colleague hires in FOD to standardize and update mappings to ensure data flows are timely and accurate in forecast / budget submissions

  • Ad hoc reports to review data consolidation, reflection of budget transfers, and reclassifications or requests

  • Provide basic comparable reports and identify overlaps and duplicated requests during Operating Plan and Forecast submissions

  • Maintain a mindset geared towards continuous improvement, keeping tools, and reporting methods relevant and valuable

  • Create multiple ad-hoc reports and analysis to assist CMO/CMAO/GAV finance teams in conducting financial analysis and preparing presentation of the outcomes

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree; or Associate's degree with four years of relevant experience; or six years of relevant experience with a high school diploma or equivalent

  • 3+ years of experience in finance management, preferably in a global environment

  • Strong capabilities in forecasting, budgeting, and expense management

  • Some accounting knowledge and prior experience in monthly financial close activities

  • Analytical, communication, and collaboration, skills with capacity to provide clear, concise, and insightful analyses

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly identify problems and structure solutions. Attention to detail

  • Excellent Proficiency in financial software and systems (SmartView, SAP, etc.) and superior/advanced Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a client facing position, particularly with Marketing or Medical clients would be a plus

  • Life Sciences industry experience

  • Knowledge of Pfizer finance systems and tools (SAP / Mosaic)

  • Knowledge of advanced Excel VBA/Macro skills and BI tools like Power BI

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $78,000.00 to $130,000.00.* In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 10.0% of the base salary.   • The annual base salary for this position in Tampa, FL ranges from $70,200.00 to $117,000.00.
