Position Highlights:

This role is a unique opportunity to work with the Executive Management of Scotiabank U.S. to execute region-wide communications initiatives. The U.S. Communications Manager will have direct access to the Head of U.S. Communications, Executive Leadership, U.S. DEI Co-Chairs and other senior executives across the region and Global Communications and Social Impact Team.

As a U.S. Communications Manager, you will support end-to-end high-volume communications for Scotiabank’s U.S. Region including Global Banking & Markets businesses and support functions, in the United States. What You’ll Do

• Support the end-to-end communications, including crafting region-wide email communications, external PR efforts, thought leadership pieces and success stories

• Work closely with our global communications teams across Business Line Communications and Enterprise Communications to ensure globally consistency and connectivity

• Plan and help facilitate region-wide town hall events and DEI-focused events in support of our Employee Resource Groups (ERG)

• Assist with interview preparation with senior leaders for internal and external speaking engagements

• Manage region-wide internal SharePoint sites and create a content calendar designed to engage employees

• In close coordination with the Scotiabank Social Impact team, help manage our U.S. ScotiaRise portfolio, our social impact commitment to work with organizations in the communities we operate

What You’ll Bring

• You have a positive attitude, a mature outlook, and a high level of attention to detail

• You have the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels

• Exceptional written communication skills

• Demonstrated interest in Communications/PR/storytelling

• Relevant job experience in Communications, Journalism, PR, and/or other transferrable fields, preferably in a high-volume environment would be a plus

• Experience in dealing with the Press

• Portfolio of content creation including writing samples, graphic design, video editing, etc. would be a plus

• Driven to continuously learn and develop

• Advanced Excel and/or PowerPoint skills would be a plus

• Demonstrated interest in Financial sector through prior experience would be a plus
